Go behind the scenes with Space Centre University in Houston Texas. This Space Camp is the ultimate 5-day program offered year-round to students ages 11-18. Your students will develop and improve critical thinking skills, creativity and the drive to be successful. Get behind the scenes access to the NASA Johnson Space Centre and experience educational program at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory improving and developing your students stem skills.

Space Centre-U features more than 400 space artifacts, permanent and travelling exhibits, attractions and theatres. They showcase the exciting future and remarkable past of America’s human space-flight program. 

This itinerary is fully customisable and optional add-on activities can be suggested by your school travel advisor. Take your students to an all-American basketball game, give surfing a go or head out on a kayak adventure.

Houston Itinerary

DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY

Depart from your closest international airport and fly to the capital of Texas – Houston!

DAY 2 – 6: SPACE CENTRE U

Your students will spend five days attending the Space U camp at NASA’s Johnston Space Centre. Immersing students in authentic stem learning opportunities tied to NASA missions. Space Center U offers a high level of STEM topics that are applied to real-world and space-related experiences. Your students will discover areas such as robotics, rocketry, thermal protection systems and space habitats.

What to expect on a school trip to the Space Center in Houston

This program is great for students that are interested in pursuing a path in the STEM fields. Space Centre University is known around the world as the home of NASA Mission Control, International Space Station Mission Control. You can add on to your trip more Space based destinations, such as visting Kennedy Space Center in Florida or spend time in New York City or even fly across to the West Coast.

Kayaking Adventure Day

Artist Boat offers exciting field lab opportunities to student groups by vessel, kayak, and foot to places of natural significance on Galveston Bay. Students participate in hands-on and feet-in instruction via outdoor and experiential learning. They interact and learn about estuarine ecology, plain-air water colouring, water quality testing, paddling and safety instruction, and collection of data.  While exploring Galveston Bay’s tranquil habitats, students make their own watercolour paintings. They will creatively reflect the immense beauty, wonder and diversity of life contained in coastal margins of Texas.

Galveston Surfing

Soak up the rays and enjoy some time on Galveston Boulevard which is located right outside your accommodation. With personalised 2-hour surf lessons, the students will get the chance to try to stand up on their board. Galveston Beach also has a fantastic pier with some great rides to keep everyone entertained.

Space Center-U Houston

Space Center University is the ultimate STEM educational experience, where your students will get a taste of space exploration. Students and teachers stay off the campus at a nearby accommodation and are transferred each day to Space Center U.
