We are excited to feature one of our fantastic arts-based trips to Europe. Europe is home to some of the most significant galleries and historical monuments in the world. See your students inspired by The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. Enjoy activities such as a guided tour of Vincent Van Gogh’s last residence in Auvers or Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny and tour around Dali’s incredible theatre museum in Figueres.
Day 1: Travel day
Fly to Paris
Day 2: Paris
On arrival you will be met at the airport and then enjoy a panoramic coach tour of the City of Lights, before transferring to your accommodation in central Paris.
Day 3: Paris: The Louvre and The Pompidou Centre
After breakfast, travel like a Parisian on the Metro, and make your way to one of the world’s largest art museums: The Louvre, where you will enjoy a guided tour. This afternoon, visit the Centre Pompidou, the largest modern art gallery in Europe. Dinner at your accommodation.
Day 4: Palace of Versailles
Take a train or private coach to the Palace of Versailles. Enjoy a guided tour of the Palace and its stunning gardens.
Day 5: Paris: Musée D’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower
After breakfast, visit the stunning Musée D’Orsay, which displays the largest collection of impressionist and post impressionist masterpieces in the world and is housed in the former station Gare D’Orsay. This afternoon, take a three hour guided architectural walking tour of the City of Light. Climb the second floor of the world’s most viewed monument, the Eiffel Tower, and enjoy spectacular views of Paris.
Day 6: Auvers, Giverny - Barcelona
After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and enjoy a full day’s excursion to Auvers and Giverny. Enjoy a guided tour of Vincent Van Gogh’s last residence, where he painted many of his masterpieces. Travel on to Giverny to visit Claude Monet’s garden, where he produced the famous water lily series. Transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Barcelona. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 7: Barcelona Museums and La Sagrada Familia
After breakfast, meet your guide for the day and visit the Parc Guell, an incredible public park and one of the major works of Gaudi. Visit the Joan Miro Gallery and discover Miro’s works and modern art. Take a guided walking tour focusing on the wonderful architecture of Barcelona and visit La Sagrada Familia.
Day 8: Girona and Figueres
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the lovely medieval town of Girona and enjoy a guided walking tour here. Girona has 11 bridges, the most famous constructed by Gustave Eiffel, at the site where four rivers meet. Head on to Figueres, Dali’s home town, and explore his theatrical museum housing the largest collection of the works of Dali in the world.
Day 9: Barcelona-Florence
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport for your midday flight to Florence. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring Florence.
Day 10: Florence: Uffizi and Accademia Gallery
After breakfast, take a guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery, and in the afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the Accademia, including viewing Michelangelo’s statue of David.
Day 11: Pisa
After breakfast, catch the local train to Pisa and spend the day exploring this beautiful city with its world-famous leaning tower, churches and baptistry.
Day 12: Milan and the Last Supper
Travel to Milan. On arrival, check in to your hotel and head to the Santa Maria delle Grazie for a guided tour and to view one of Leonardo’s incredible masterpieces, “The Last Supper”.
Day 13: Milan and Lake Como
Visit Pinacoteca di Brera and enjoy a guided tour of public galley which contains one of the foremost collections of Italian paintings. Travel to stunning Varenna on Lake Como, and take the ferry to Bellagio to explore this beautiful village with its cobbled lanes and elegant buildings. Take the ferry back to Varenna and enjoy a delicious final dinner in Italy.
Day 14: Fly home
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
Day 15: Arrive home
Arrive home.
