South America Music and CultureTrip

The Teatro Colón is the main opera house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is ranked the third best opera house in the world by National Geographic. With a music and culture focused school trip to South America, students will have the opportunity to see a live performance in what is acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world.

Students can walk across the significant engineering landmark, Puente de la Mujer, Spanish for "Women's Bridge", a rotating footbridge for Dock 3 of the Puerto Madero commercial district of Buenos Aires. An advertising executive, had been hired to develop a campaign to promote Puerto Madero, but his analysis showed that the biggest challenge of the site was access, not public awareness.

Music forms the heart of South American culture and traditions, and music is important in daily lives of the people. There is music for everything such as agricultural labor, building houses, marketing cattle, sheep and goats etc. There are also a number of traditional dances and traditional dance songs. Students will have the opportunity witness local folk music and take part in performances with locals.
