What Can You Expect

In Nevada, students will learn about the incredible Grand Canyon and visit the Grand Canyon ‘Glass’ Skywalk, suspended 4000ft above the Canyon in the Hualapai Indian Reservation. Visit Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the country and learn how it supplies water across three different states, and explore the engineering behind the Hoover Dam. Walk the strip in Las Vegas, and discover the incredible city in the middle of the desert! This is a trip full of discovery, studying the links between natural and man-made wonders and the difficulties of striking a balance between the two.

grand canyon view

Carved out by the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon (nearly 1,500 m deep) is the most spectacular gorge in the world. Located in the state of Arizona, it cuts across the Grand Canyon National Park. Its horizontal strata retrace the geological history of the past 2 billion years. There are also prehistoric traces of human adaptation to a particularly harsh environment.

"I was very impressed with Educating Adventures. I have organised many school trips and I would say that they are the best school travel company that I have dealt with. They thought of everything and ensured that nothing was missed in the build up to the trip. The EA rep was fantastic, could not do enough for us. "
